Jillian Brown / Design Strategist
Jillian has always gravitated toward juxtapositions. At a young age, one of her first meaningful interactions with a juxtaposition was in ballet. In her mind, ballet is the perfect combination of athleticism and grace. It's no wonder she found the same joy in design thinking three years ago. Design thinking mixes the analytical mindfulness of business with the creativity of design. In college, she took an interest in social entrepreneurship, another juxtaposition of for-profit and non-profit models, after a pivotal moment when she realized she wanted to make change in the world through business. Post graduation, she was exposed to design thinking tools while working as a consultant supporting service design projects for clients like Blue Cross Blue Shield, Target, Illume and others. At Peer Insight, she has taken those tools and thought processes, and put them into practice with our clients. Jillian graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Global Studies and minors in Business and French.
Natural landscapes, seasonal changes, social entrepreneurship, well-designed businesses, openness to new experiences, sunshine and fresh air. But above all else, people taking risks and leaps-of-faith to achieve their dreams.
During my first couple of weeks at Peer Insight, I really appreciated the tradition of "learning lunches", which is a chance for you to get to know each of your colleagues one-on-one over lunch. As a new hire it really makes you feel like you are part of the group instantly! It is a small way that PI shows they really care about the culture and making it feel like a family, not just a place you work.
