Kathi Hendrick /
Trained as both an engineer and a designer, Kathi combines a social scientist’s nose for weak signals with an engineer’s appetite for rigor. She has a unique ability to stay laser-focused on the strategic context of a project while being able to uncover, synthesize and create possibilities from quantitative and qualitative data and insights. She's honed these abilities through her work as a new product development engineer at W.L. Gore & Associates, and by supporting innovation work with clients such as Cardinal Health and AARP. Her design research toolkit is interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial in nature, but rooted in formal training at Parsons The New School for Design where she completed an MS in Strategic Design & Management. She also holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, where she graduated with top honors.
What I love
What inspires me
Nature, one-of-a-kind cafes, craftsmanship, crisp autumn mornings, and the unencumbered curiosity of kids. But, most of all, people. People doing what they love. People pushing themselves to their edge. People helping others. People doing the right thing.
My favorite moment at Peer Insight
During my first team Huddle, a weekly Peer Insight internal meeting, I got to hear everyone express gratitude to one another for the first time. The list went on and on, some people even circling back to add more. It was really inspiring to see how much everyone genuinely valued and appreciated one another for both the big and small things they do everyday.
